BAPTISMS: New guidelines – We will only baptise one child at a time unless there is a sibling. The Baptism party in total can be no more than thirty people and strict social distancing rules must be followed.

PIETY STALL: Until further notice the Piety Stall will not be open. Congestion, cash handling, as well as goods handling all help the spread of the virus.

GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING MASS:
• Please use provided hand sanitiser as you enter and leave the church. The church will be cleaned between Masses.
• There will be no Servers, Sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers or Offertory Procession required at Mass until further notice, to limit the numbers touching chalices etc.
• Readers should sanitise their hands before and after reading and should avoid touching the microphones or the Lectionary during the Liturgy of the Word, apart from page turning. Readers may remove their face coverings at the lectern to read and should replace them before stepping away.
• There will be NO singing or NO bidding prayers at Mass
• The precious blood will NOT be distributed at this time.
• Please avoid all physical contact with fellow parishioners. The Sign of Peace will NOT take place.
• Please arrive by the main doors and leave by the side entrance.
• There will be NO Offertory collection, but suffice to say, in these recent months, even with nobody coming in through the doors, money has still been going out! There will be collection baskets near the exit doors, so please do make an offering if you can.
• Face coverings became mandatory in places of worship on Saturday 8th August. All those who attend church must wear a face covering. (Those that are exempt for medical reasons or children under 11 remain exempt in these settings).

OFFERTORY COLLECTIONS: From the weekend 29th/30th August Sunday Mass will resume with only a limited number of people allowed into church. St. Mary’s has a limit of 46 people, while St. Richard’s can only hold 26 people. For that reason you are being asked to go to Mass on a weekday if possible. There is no Sunday obligation to attend Mass at present.
Since we are not allowed to pass the collection bags around during Mass you will see a basket at the exit door for your offerings & gift aid envelopes for the church. For the last five months the parish has had no income, since the parish is totally dependent on the weekly collections. I know that many people have been affected financially, so if you are able to renew your weekly offerings to our parish I would be very grateful. A simple way to make a regular offering to the parish is to make a Standing Order through your bank. Standing Order Forms are available from the office at St. Mary’s or from Fr. Dever. For those who pay Income Tax a Gift Aid Form is also available. This allows the tax you have already paid on your weekly offering to be repaid to our parish. So if you give a £1 the parish will receive £1.20p. I would encourage anyone who can to consider signing a standing order for the parish. With thanks for all your help and understanding in these very difficult times.
