SECOND COLLECTION this weekend for World Communications Day.

SAINT ELISABETH CONVENT: We welcome to St. Mary’s next Saturday, 8th June at the 11 o’clock morning Mass and St Richard’s on Monday 10th June at the 9.15am Mass, a sister from Saint Elisabeth Convent, in Minsk, Russia who will talk about their support and care for the children in orphanage’s and work in building rehabilitation centres for men and women including hospitals and schools. There will be a small display of various crafts on sale after Mass at each church. Please help and support this worthy cause.

ST. RICHARD’S SUMMER FAIR: There will be only one Summer Fair for the Parish this year, in St. Richard’s church grounds on Sunday 30th June at 12noon. We do need donations of items for all the stalls as soon as possible. This week we are concentrating on Good as New items and bottles for the Bottle Stall.

FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY: On 2nd September 1969 St. Richard’s School opened for the first time. In September of this year we will be celebrating fifty years of one of our primary schools. Today, I ask for your help with ideas/photographs etc. for the celebration of this important anniversary for our parish.

MEN’S SUPPORT GROUP: The importance of mental health, particularly with regard to men, has been highlighted recently. Fr. Laurence would, therefore, like to set up a safe space for men, married, single and widowed to come together to pray and talk in confidence about the issues that affect us. The first monthly meeting will be on Friday 14th June at 7pm. in the Meeting Room of St. Mary’s Presbytery.

CATHOLIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION BARBECUE: For all those involved in healthcare, the Catholic Medical Association invites you to a barbecue in the garden at the back of St. Mary’s Presbytery on Friday 21st June, beginning with Mass in St. Mary’s. EMPOWERED CONVERSATIONS COURSE is a practical course that supports you to think about your communications and relationships with a loved one living with dementia. Join us for four FREE sessions to pause, reflect and connect with other family carers who are facing similar challenges. The next course on Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20, 27. Time 10am – 12.30pm Venue: Levenshulme Old Library, Cromwell Grove, M19 3QE.

THANK YOU: The family of the late Mary Hegarty wish to thank everyone who attended Mary’s funeral recently, and to all who donated to the North West Air Ambulance Service. A total of £704.22p was raised.
