Baptism registration takes place at St Mary’s Church after the 11am Mass on the second Sunday of each month. Parents are warmly invited to register their child after this Mass.


New Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Confirmation Course started Wednesday 25th October. If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or want to receive Confirmation, our new course started Wednesday, 25th October at 7pm at St Mary’s presbytery. For more information, talk to Fr Boniface or Marie Sartini.


Parish Pastoral council meeting takes place at St Mary’s Presbytery on 29th October at 6pm. All members are invited to attend.


St Robert of Newminster Parish Mass of Remembrance

Saturday 4th November 2023 at 7pm at St. Mary’s we remember all those who have passed away in our community during the course of the last 12 months. Light refreshments after the Mass in Parish Hall. All are welcome.


National SVP Young Adults Retreat 24th-26th November

Hebron Hall Christian Centre, Dinas Powys, CF64 4YB

Join the SVP for a weekend of meeting others who are passionate about making a difference in their local communities. It will be a weekend of prayer and reflection with times of volunteering and action, including a visit to St Vincent’s, Ely Bridge. Cost: £50

Candlelight Christmas Carol Concert

Thursday 21 December, 7 – 8pm with refreshments from 8pm.

Everyone welcome, bring your family and friends!

Concert rehearsals will be held at St Mary’s after Mass on Sunday on 5th, 12th and 19th November.


St Mary’s Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 9 December after morning Mass. Donations for gifts for all stalls welcome (no clothing or bric-a-brac, please).


Memorial Mass Wednesday 15th November, 7pm

This November, the Manchester Hospitals RC Chaplaincy Team is holding a special Mass to remember all who have died at Manchester Foundation Trust Hospitals. All are welcome join for the celebration of Mass and for refreshments after.


Queen of Peace Prayer Group Saturday 18th November, 10am

Sacred Heart Church, Rochdale, OL16 5BX

A new monthly prayer group is set to begin in Rochdale with a special focus on praying for peace. The Queen of Peace Prayer Group will meet once a month at Sacred Heart Church in Rochdale. The first meeting takes place on Saturday 18th November and will begin at 10am with a welcome session and a talk on Our Lady’s messages and the Five Stones of Medjugorje. This will be followed by adoration, praying the Rosary for peace, and the opportunity for confession. The morning will come to a close with midday Mass. All are welcome to join.


Volunteering at the Laudato Si’ Centre

The Diocese of Salford’s environment hub – the Laudato Si’ Centre – is looking for new recruits to join its team of volunteers. This flexible, rewarding opportunity can be on a regular or ad hoc basis as the team works to develop the Centre’s beautiful walled garden and woodland areas, set  within the grounds of Wardley Hall.
