LENT begins next Wednesday on Ash Wednesday.

February 14th is Ash Wednesday.

Join us as a community of worshippers of St Robert of Newminster Parish (St Mary of the Angels and St Clare and St Richards)

We encourage all parishioners to join us for Mass and distribution of Ash at:

9.15am St Richard’s

6.30pm at St Mary’s (distribution of Ash and service of the Word at St Marys RC is at 1.30 pm)

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. Friday’s during Lent are also obligatory days of abstinence. The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59 years.

When fasting a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are equally binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 years onwards.

We wish you all a blessed and Graceful Lenten Season.

There will be Stations of the Cross on each Sunday of Lent at 6.00pm at St Mary’s. Please endeavour to be part of it.

Breakfast after Mass. Every Sunday after Mass, there is a breakfast of sausage or bacon on toast, tea & coffee in the Hall. Everyone is welcome.

The Parish is in a great need of an organist. If you know anyone who knows how to play an organ please see Fr Kris.

Peggy Sweeney will be selling the Easter Chicks in the porch of both Churches Saturday evening 17th and Sunday 18th Feb in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
