PRIEST TRAINING FUND SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND: The priesthood has always been essential to the life of the Church, from the time of Jesus until today. Good Shepherd Sunday is the day we pray for vocations, for our priests, and take up the Priest Training Fund second collection. This fund pays for the formation of men to become priest in our diocese. After their ordination, our priests dedicate their lives to serving Christ and His people in our parishes, hospitals, schools, chaplaincies, prisons and in service to the needy. However, it costs approximately £30,000 a year to sponsor each seminarian. They study for 6 years before being ordained a Catholic priest. The diocese therefore rely on your generous support and prayers. Please support our priests of the future in your donation today.

MISSION APPEAL NEXT WEEKEND: Sister Brenda Makokha will be making an appeal at both St. Mary’s and St. Richard’s next weekend.  Sister is a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of St. Joseph, with Missions in Kenya and Uganda, East Africa and Ecuador South. America.

If you know of anyone who would like to receive Holy Communion, please ask the person’s permission and then give their name, address and phone number to Fr. Dever or the parish office.
