WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY: As well as the feast of the Ascension, today is World Communications Day 2016. This year’s theme is ‘Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter’. The theme was chosen to coincide with the Holy Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis to highlight the mercy of God. In his message for the 50th World Communications Day, Pope Francis talks about how our every word and gesture should express God’s compassion, tenderness and forgiveness. Please help the CCN to continue their work through contributing generously to the 2nd collection today.            


ST. MARY’S SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME: All parents/carers of the children making their First Holy Communion on Sunday, 15th May at 1.00pm are invited to a meeting next Tuesday, 10th May at 7.00pm in St. Mary’s Parish Centre.


FUNDRAISING EVENT: at the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph’s Home, Plymouth Grove, Longsight on Friday, 13th May 7.30pm – 11.00pm. Entertainment provided by Kevin Prendergast, accompanied by Pat Jordan. Raffle and Bar, food available to purchase. Tickets £10 from Reception.


42ND ROSARY RALLY: Saturday 21st May 2.30pm – 4.00pm Grosvenor Square, All Saints, M15 6BW (in front of St. Augustine’s Church). Guest Speaker: Rev.Fr. James Cadman. The Rally is organised by the Legion of Mary, Manchester.

PILGRIMAGE TO HOLY ISLAND: Leaving Saturday, 9th July 2016 from St. Bernard’s, Burnage Lane, early start 6am. Walk the Holy Mile in silent prayer across the causeway. Stay overnight just outside Durham at the Holiday Inn on Bed & Breakfast basis. Sunday will be spent in Durham visiting the Cathedral and praying at the tombs of Cuthbert and Bede.
