NOVENA PRAYERS IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY OF KNOCK: Next Sunday, 14th August St. Mary’s parish will begin a Novena to Our Lady of Knock at 6pm. The Novena will be said weekdays at 7pm and at weekends at 6pm. The Novena will finish on Monday, 22nd August at 7pm.

WATCHING AND WAITING: We do not like to wait. If we’re waiting for a friend or family member, the slightest delay has us reaching for our phones to catch up on emails, social media or the latest news. Delayed flights, or food that doesn’t arrive promptly in a restaurant, can make us impatient and jittery. We have lost the art of waiting. Yet Jesus regulary emphasises the importance of waiting. But it is clear that it is not the sort of waiting where we can sit around scrolling through our phones – there is an art to it. We must be awake and dressed for action and have our lamps lit, ready to go. We must be ready to open the door to the master when he knocks.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND: Every Sunday our ministers vist elderly, sick and housebound parishioners in our parish who are unable to attend Mass, bringing Holy Communion, Sunday Bulletins, and a friendly smile. Dever on 0161 224 1498 or St. Mary’s Parish Office on 0161 248 8836 and include your name, phone number and address in your message. Thank-you.
