HOLY COMMUNION AT HOME: Our Eucharistic Ministers are able to take Holy Communion once more to the sick and housebound at home (though not yet to those in nursing homes). It’s possible now that some who used to attend Mass regularly before the pandemic may not now feel fit enough to return. Would you like Holy Communion to be brought to you at home? Please contact Fr. Dever (224 1498) or the Parish Office (248 8836).

FAMILY FAST DAY: The CAFOD Family Fast Day for their Lent Appeal is on Friday 11th March 2022. Envelopes will be available at both Churches should you wish to donate. Your small act of love this Lent will make a big difference to many communities affected by extreme hunger and children suffering from malnutrition. You can donate in church using a CAFOD envelope or by visiting the CAFOD website (

GIFT AID DONORS: The tax year 2021/22 will be coming to an end on 5th April and the parish will then undertake the process of claiming back the Gift Aid refunds on donations made in the tax year. If your circumstances have changed and you no longer pay income tax (or if for any other reason you do not wish to remain in the Gift Aid scheme) please let Fr. Michael know or contact (Richard Molloy on 07791 925 190) by 5th April, otherwise it will be assumed you have paid sufficient income tax for the parish to reclaim Gift Aid on donations made in the tax year. Thank you.

RISE IN DIOCESAN LEVY: Each year our parish contributes to Diocesan central costs by way of a levy on our offertory income. These central costs include the recruitment and training of new and existing priests, the welfare of sick and retired priests, the cost of the Bishop and his office, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Financial Management, Legal Matters and Human Resources. These costs have increased by around 24% over the last 10 years while income has remained mainly the same. Therefore, our Diocesan Levy is set to increase substantially over the next few years and the parish will need to raise its income to cover such increases. Please consider if you are able to review your offertory contribution. If you do not currently gift aid and are in a position to do so, please consider joining our Gift Aid Scheme.

After a break of two years, due to the pandemic, we are pleased to confirm the resumption of our annual pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Shrine in England. The pilgrimage will be led by Bishop John and will take place on Saturday 7th May 2022. We hope coaches will be available from each deanery, leaving around 7.00am and arriving back around 10.00pm. The cost for the day trip is £20. Those wishing to make their own way are welcome to join the pilgrimage in Walsingham. For more information please contact: Telephone 0161 817 2214/07761 706 002.

Alongside this, there will be a Youth Pilgrimage for young people in years 7, 8 and 9. The Youth coach will leave on Friday 6th May 2022 around 10am from Salford Cathedral and arrive back around 10.00pm on Saturday 7th May. The group will be staying at Elmham House in Walsingham. The subsidised cost for the Youth pilgrimage is £50 which includes accommodation, food and travel. To book a place, please complete the form by going to
