SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND for CAFOD in support of their wonderful work, when as well as praying for successful harvests for people in the developing world, we are asked to go without something to free up money to make a positive difference.



The RCIA begins with an Introductory Meeting on Wednesday, 14th October at 7.15pm in the Meeting Room of St. Mary’s Presbytery. The program is open not only to those seeking to become Catholic, but also to baptised Catholics in need of First Communion and/or Confirmation, and fully initiated Catholics wishing to learn more about their faith. You will not be obligated to join by attending this informal meeting. For further details contact Marie Sartini on 07747 851 239 or just come along on the night.


LADIES OF CHARITY: Mass and meeting will take place next Wednesday, 7th October in the Meeting Room of St. Mary’s Presbytery at 7.30pm. New members most welcome.


ST. MARY’S & ST. RICHARD’S 500 DRAW – What is it?

The 500 Club is a fund raising activity which raises funds for both parishes and also gives back something to its members. In fact, the 500 Club gives back 50% of its income to members. The cost is £10 per membership. There will be 5 draws: 31st October, November 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. The draws will be held in the Meeting Room in St. Mary’s Presbytery after the 6.30pm Saturday evening Mass. Could you be an agent? Could you be a member? Full details can be found on the table at the back of church. Agent’s books will be available from next weekend. This is a great way to support your parish and stand a chance of winning a cash prize.



CRAZY BINGO: Come and join us today (Sunday) and play crazy bingo from 1pm – 3pm in St. Mary’s Parish Centre. Tea and Cake also provided. Cost £5 all-inclusive plus raffle prizes. All proceeds to St. Mary’s Underage G.A.A


ST. MARY’S PARISH CENTRE: BENEFIT NIGHT next Friday, 9th October from 9.00pm till late. In aid of The Phoenix Academy of Irish Dancing featuring Bridget Country Heartbeat (first time in Manchester for 25 years). MACMILLAM COFFE MORNING: Thanks to you all. We know what a difference Macmillan makes to the lives of those affected by cancer and are proud to have been able to support them with your help. A special word of thanks to those who provided cakes and also to St. Mary’s School. A cheque for £222 was sent to Macmillan Cancer Support during the week.


SWINGIN’ AFFAIR at Little Sisters of the Poor, Longsight next Friday, 9th October at 7.30pm Tickets £6 which includes choice of a hot meal. Bar available. See poster in church porch.


ST. RICHARD’S COFFEE MORNING every Wednesday in the Sacristy after morning Mass. Also BINGO every Sunday at 8pm in the presbytery. Everyone Welcome.
