The Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales ask: Face coverings help to mitigate the risk of spreading Covid, they are still strongly recommended to be worn in church covering both the nose and mouth. INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CATHOLIC?
We will be running a course for anyone interested in becoming a Catholic. The course is part of the process known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and is for anyone who knows they would like to become a Catholic, thinks they may want to become a Catholic or would just like to learn more about the Catholic faith, whether they are already Catholic or not. The course will begin sometime in October and run until Easter. It will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7.15pm in the Meeting Room of St. Mary’s Presbytery. ST. MARY’S ACTIVE RETIREMENT GROUP
We are pleased to welcome back all members, old and new to our weekly group starting on Thursday 14th October from 12.30pm – 2.30pm in St. Mary’s Parish Centre. Everyone welcome, so come along, rekindle friendships and make new friends. FREE admission, including Music, Bingo, Raffles including light refreshments.
Those attending need to be aware of the clear signage within the Parish Hall and follow all protocols regarding hand sanitising, wearing face mask, ventilation (so please wear warm clothing) and track and trace (in compliance with data protection).
SUNDAY BREAKFAST TO RESUME
St. Mary’s Sunday Breakfast will be served between 12noon and 1.00pm on 17th October after the 11 o’clock Mass. Toast/Bacon Barm served with cup of tea. New Volunteers required. Anyone interested in being part of a team to help with the Sunday Breakfast please come along and see one of the people in the kitchen on that Sunday after Mass.
BINGO: Bingo Night will start again on Sunday 17th October at 8pm in the Lounge area of St. Mary’s Parish Centre. Come along and join us.
LORETO & XAVERIAN COLLEGES OPEN DAYS: Both colleges are holding Open Days this year on Saturday 9th and Sunday 17th October. The times for Loreto College are 10am -12pm or 1pm – 3pm. The times for Xaverian College are confirmed on their website or tel. 0161 249 2145.
