Saint Vincent Ferrer: Vincent was born in 1350, and entered the Dominican Order aged 15; he lived through a time of turmoil in the Church, when the Pope was residing at Avignon in France. Vincent was assiduous in preaching throughout Spain and France, and died in 1419 while trying to end the Hundred Years War.

Pray for the Sick and Housebound and those who are known to you. May the Good Lord strengthen and comfort them. Pray also for all who care for the sick.

Grant eternal rest to those who have died recently.

Patrick Walkin, Tommy Colleran (Month’s Mind).

Let your face shine upon those whose anniversaries are at this time. Fr. Peter Kitchen, Dennis Kavanagh, Hughie Jones, Stan Kinnear, Mary Henry.

This week the Gospel is chosen because it relates what happened today eight days after Easter, Jesus comes again to his disciples. The story of Thomas’s doubt and faith leads us to think about our doubts and faith but always in the context of being part of the family of the Church. Remember last week, and the baptisms you may have witnessed, or the renewal of your own baptismal promises: this is the faith of the Church, the faith in which we are baptised.

FAMILY FUN AFTERNOON will be held today Sunday, 3rd April in St. Mary’s Parish Centre from 12noon – 5pm. The afternoon will include a DJ, bouncy castle, and lots lots more.
