RELAXATION OF COVID REQUIREMENTS: Following the announcement by the Prime Minister that the requirements to wear a face mask is no longer mandatory in public places as of Thursday 27th January, whilst we can no longer enforce this as a legal requirement at St. Mary’s and St. Richard’s, it is still highly recommended for the safety of all concerned that you continue to wear a mask whilst in church. For the same reason, we will continue to offer socially distanced seating for those who wish to use it.

CARITAS SUNDAY: This Sunday, 30th January, is dedicated, in this Diocese, to the work of Caritas Diocese of Salford. The pandemic continues to have a devastating effect on people’s health, wellbeing and finances, which is worse for those already at risk or experiencing crisis in our communities. Coupled with rising food, energy and cost of living, it is going to be another tough year for so many people. There will be a second collection this weekend to help Caritas Diocese of Salford continue important work in our parishes and across the Diocese.

 

YOUNG ADULTS RETREAT IN PREPARATION FOR LENT, a retreat will take place on 26th-27th February at Theodore House (Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe BB7 9PZ). It is being subsidised to keep the cost down to £40 (including bed, breakfast, lunch and evening meal). To register, please email:

HOLY COMMUNION at HOME: Our Eucharistic Ministers are now able to take Holy Communion once more to the sick and housebound at home (though not yet to those in nursing homes). It’s possible now that some who used to attend Mass regularly before the pandemic may not now feel fit enough to return. Would you like Holy Communion to be brought to you at home? Please contact Fr. Dever (224 1498) or the Parish Office (248 8836).

 

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION:  If anyone would like to go to Confession, please contact Fr. Dever on 0161` 224 1498 to make an appointment. Confession boxes cannot be used at this time.
