ADVENT SERVICE: Next Friday, 4th December at 2.00pm St. Richard’s School and Choir will lead a service in St. Richard’s Church to celebrate the start of Advent. Everyone very welcome.

 

CONSULTATION REPORT FROM BISHOP JOHN: The publication of the Final Report on the Diocesan Consultation earlier this year has now been published. There is a copy for you at the back of the church, which is a shortened version of the report. It gives the main outline of what the document contains. If you would like to read the full document, you will find it on the Salford Dioceses website, under the banner ‘Bishop’s Report’.

 

YEAR OF MERCY (DECEMBER 2015 – NOVEMBER 2016)

There is a small prayer booklet at the back of Church, it’s free, please take one, and use it during the year of mercy.

 

THE HOLY YEAR OF MERCY – HOLY DOORS: Bishop John will solemnly open the Salford Cathedral Holy Door at 11.00am on Sunday 13th December, as Pope Francis opens the additional holy doors in the city of Rome. The Holy Door will then be available at the Cathedral throughout the Holy Year. The timetable is as follows: Mass: Monday to Friday 10am. Saturday 10.30am, Sunday 11am and 5.30pm.

 

ADVENT PREPARATION FOR CHRISTMAS: Sr. Edith will be selling children’s books at St. Richard’s Masses and at St. Mary’s 11 o’clock Mass next weekend 5th/6th December. Books mainly £1 each/Adult leaflets 25p each.

 

WE WELCOME INTO THE CHURCH Miller Shay David Pringle and Treyhearn Mugagga who were baptised at St. Mary’s recently; we pray for their families at this special time.

 

ST. MARY’S CHRISTMAS FAIR: The Christmas Fair takes place next Sunday, 6th December after the 11 o’clock Mass. Please do your best to come along and support it. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to try and make it a great success. It is now up to you!

 

ST. MARY’S CHRISTMAS BUFFET LUNCH: Sunday 13th December 1pm – 4pm. in the parish centre. Entertainment provided by D.J. Justin. Tickets £10 p.p. available from the parish centre after the 11 o’clock Mass on Sundays.
