ST. MARY’S SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME

We welcome our children and their families to the last celebration before Confirmation on Thursday, 16th April. At this time we pray for them and their families that they may really enter into the mystery for which they are preparing, and foster an appreciation of their Faith and a love for the Eucharist.

The last week of Lent is known as Holy Week. It is when we Christians remember the last week of Jesus’ life; it is the most important time in our liturgical year. I urge you to take the time to celebrate it all with due reverence and devotion.

Do make this your Holy Week – begin with the Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. Mary’s on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

ST. MARY’S YEAR 6 STATIONS OF THE CROSS

St. Mary’s School invites you all down to the school hall on Tuesday, 31st March at 6.30pm to watch Year 6 children present the Stations of the Cross. The children have been working hard on re-enacting the Passion of Our Lord and relating it to their everyday lives.

SEDER MEAL (LAST SUPPER) – WEDNESDAY

This meal forms part of our Holy Week reflections. It commemorates in a prayerful way the last meal Jesus shared with his twelve Apostles at the Jewish Festival of Passover. Tickets available from Marie Sartini (FREE) on 07747 851 239.

WALK OF WITNESS

We are invited to join with the other churches on a ‘Walk of Witness’ from St. Mary’s to St. Peter’s Church, along Stockport Road. It will take place after the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday morning.

Please note a Collection will be taken on Good Friday for the Shrines of Palestine.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARTY

A big thank you to everyone who attended St. Patrick’s Day Party in St. Mary’s Parish Centre on 17th March. A special word of thanks to Irish TV Out & About Manchester, Kevin Prendergast and Andy Murphy for helping to make the party such a great success. Also many thanks to the volunteer helpers on the day who helped to make the event run so smoothly. The raffle, in support of Irish Community Care upkeep of graves, raised the magnificent amount of £600. Well done to you all. Together we enjoyed a terrific afternoon and look forward to seeing everyone at our next event.
