ATTENTION ALL GIFT AID DONORS: The tax year 2020–2021 will be coming to an end on 5th April and the Parish will then undertake the process of claiming back the Gift Aid refunds on donations made in the tax year. If your circumstances have changed and you no longer pay income tax (or if for any other reason you do not wish to remain in the Gift Aid Scheme) please let Father Dever know or contact Richard Molloy on 07791 925 190 as soon as possible before 5th April, otherwise it will be assumed you have paid sufficient income tax for the Parish to reclaim Gift Aid on donations made in the tax year. Also, if you are a current tax payer and donating monies but have not completed a Gift Aid Declaration or wish to clarify your status, please contact Richard Molloy on the number above, who will advise you accordingly. COLD WEATHER PAYMENT: With more time spent at home than ever during the national lockdown, many households have had to have their heating on for long periods each day. However, you may be able to claim back some money from the government to compensate with a Cold Weather Payment. A payment is given if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over seven consecutive days. The postcodes in Greater Manchester where cold weather payments have kicked in from November 1 2020 to February 18 2021 included M12 and M19 during the following period: 28 December 2020 to 3 January 2021. Those who are entitled will get £25 for each seven day period of very cold weather between November 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021. You can apply for a Cold Weather Payment if you’re getting: Pension Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit.
