JOY: THE SURPRISE OF THE GOSPEL: Saturday 6th October 2018 10.00am – 5.00pm at Salford Cathedral and Centre. Joy: the Surprise of the Gospel is a Scripture Festival. The day is designed to offer a taste of scripture to a wide range of people across the North of England. As well as keynote speakers who will bring insights into how the scriptures offer us joy and hope, there will be a variety of workshops for people to explore the Bible in different ways. KERALA FLOODS: SVP APPEAL: As you’ve seen in the media, terrible floods have been taking place in Kerala in southern India. Hundreds of people have been killed and many more are missing; countless homes have been washed away, and the monsoon season is set to continue until early September. The leading Catholic volunteering charity, the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), is very active there and they are doing great work in helping the victims. However, they desperately need funds. Please contribute to the SVP’s Kerala appeal.
