CAFOD SPEAKER AT BOTH PARISHES

This weekend at St. Richard’s and St. Mary’s parishes we welcome Breffni O’Brien, a trained CAFOD volunteer, who will be speaking at the four weekend Masses. Breffni will also be asking for people who are interested in CAFOD’s work and want to support CAFOD further in the parish; anyone who would like further information can speak to him after Mass.

LENT – THE EXTRA MILE

Lent offers us all a very special opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and to deepen our commitment to a way of life, rooted in our baptism. In our busy world, Lent provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon our patterns, to pray more deeply, experience sorrow for what we’ve done and failed to do, and to be generous to those in need. In our parishes there are many extras that we can take on.

PRAYER: Daily Mass (see times)

Stations of the Cross Sunday at 6pm in St. Mary’s

Churches Together in Levenshulme Reflections on Wednesday evenings. (See details each week on poster).

FASTING: Try to keep Friday’s of Lent as days of Fast and abstinence. (No Meat)

ALMSGIVING: Think of CAFOD

WALK WITH ME BOOKLETS

Free copies of Walk with Me are available at the back of church. Why not take some to the sick and housebound in your neighbourhood?

JOURNEY IN FAITH – RITE OF ELECTION

Our prayers and good wishes accompany Clara, Gordon and Vanessa as they join ‘fellow travellers on the journey’ at Salford Cathedral today (Sunday). Bishop John Arnold formally welcomes all who will be received into the Church at Easter. Thanks to all who accompany them each week at the meetings?

ST. MARY’S APF – MILL HILL MISSION

THANK YOU & APPEAL This will take place next weekend at St. Mary’s – Saturday 6.30pm and Sunday 11.00am Masses when we welcome Fr. Dermot Byrne MHM to our parish. Thank you to all parishioners who already support this wonderful Association through the Red Boxes. If you have not yet thought of doing so, perhaps this thank you and appeal might persuade you to think about doing so. See poster in the church porch.
