PRISONERS SUNDAY

Today we pray for prisoners and their families and all those who are justly or unjustly incarcerated. A voluntary organisation called ‘Out There’ works in Greater Manchester to support the families of prisoners. SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME

Next Sunday, 23rd November we will welcome the children for the next stage in their journey of faith. We promise that as a parish community we will play our part in their preparation, above all else we promise them our prayers.

 

ADVENT

The season of Advent starts on Sunday, 30th November and it is meant to be a time of preparation for the birth of Christ Our Savour. In St. Mary’s on each of the four Sundays of Advent there will be a Holy Hour from 6pm to 7pm. Fr. Michael Cupit from St. Philip’s Parish, Offerton will give a talk on the theme  ‘O Come Emmanuel – The meaning of Advent.

 

ST. MARY’S CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

We are looking for children aged between 5yrs – 15yrs to take part in St. Mary’s Christmas Eve Liturgy.  If there are any young volunteers who would like to take part please see Marie Sartini today (Sunday) after Mass in church or telephone Marie on 07747 851 239.

 

FUNDRAISING NIGHT

On Friday, 21st November there will be a Fundraising Night at the Fiddlers Green, Levenshulme from 8.30pm in aid of Cornerstone and The Little Sisters of the Poor. There will also be a donation made to the Ladies of Charity of St. Mary’s Parish.  Music will be provided by Paul Fitzpatrick.

 

OLD GREGORIAN’S ASSOCIATION

The Old Gregorian’s Annual Mass for deceased former pupils and teachers of St. Gregory’s RC High School Ardwick Green will be celebrated at St. Kentigern’s Church, Wilbraham Rd, Fallowfield, M14 7DW at 7.30pm on Friday, 28th November, followed by a gathering in St. Kentigern’s Social Club. lFor further information contact Terry O’Neil on 0161 442 6839.

 

CHRISTMAS FAIR AT ST.JOSEPH’S HOME

On Saturday, 29th November the Little Sisters of the Poor, Longsight are holding their annual Christmas Fair at 1.00pm. Come along and join them. See poster on the notice board in the church porch.
