This year the Day for Life will focus on all those who are suffering or have survived domestic abuse. Further information can be found on the CEDAR website (

CELEBRATION MASS next Sunday 23rd June at 11 o’clock at St. Mary’s Church for the First Holy Communion Children followed by Communion Breakfast in the parish centre.

PARISH SUMMER FAIR will take place in St. Richard’s church grounds on Sunday 30th June at 12noon. (Only 2 weeks away). There will be various stalls, games, hot food, afternoon teas and fun for everyone. This is not only one of the social highlights of the year but is also one of the biggest contributors to parish funds. We look forward to seeing you all on the day and bring the sunshine with you! Donations can be left at St. Richard’s Presbytery or can be put in the box at the back of St. Mary’s Church. Thank you.

CATHOLIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION BARBECUE: For all those involved in healthcare, the Catholic Medical Association invites you to a barbecue in the garden at the back of St. Mary’s Presbytery on Friday 21st June, beginning with Mass in St. Mary’s. 2019 REFUGEE WEEK: Refugee Week takes place every year across the world in the week around World Refugee Day on the 20th June. In the UK, Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities. There are lots of events happening around the diocese. A list of the events around the diocese can be found at the back of church.

FR. PAT CLARKE has spent the last 43+ years caring for the poor in Sὰo Paulo, Brazil. At the moment they are suffering from the recent floods that invaded the city, destroying nearly everything that the people had. Next weekend at both St. Richard’s and St. Mary’s there will be volunteers selling raffle tickets to help raise funds so that essential work can be started and life return to some kind of normality.

THANK YOU: Sister Edith sends a sincere thank you to all those who donated all the various wool received recently. It will make several warm blankets for needy people.
