Today Sunday 15th May we will be celebrating the First Holy Communion Mass for the Year 3 children in St. Mary’s Primary School. Next Thursday 19th May our children in group one of St. Richard’s School will receive the sacrament for the first time. Please remember these children and their families in your prayers at this special time for them.


MISSION APPEAL THIS WEEKEND: We welcome Sister Brenda Makokha who will be making a Mission Appeal at our Sunday Masses this weekend. Sister is a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of St. Joseph, with Missions in Kenya and Uganda, East Africa and Ecuador South. America. A Personal & Parish Renewal Week at Sacred Heart & St. Francis Parish, Levenshulme Rd, Gorton, M18 7WJ..

From Monday 23rd – Friday 27th May from 7-9pm each evening.

The week will include quest speakers, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Mass. See poster on the notice board for full details. This is a free event.

HOLY COMMUNION AT HOME: Following the end of “lockdown”, Eucharistic Ministers are once more able to visit people in their own home in order to give Holy Communion to anyone who is unable to come to church. All our ministers have been DBS checked and will have taken precautions to ensure they do not carry the Covid virus. If you know of anyone who would like to receive Holy Communion, please ask the person’s permission and then give their name, address and phone number to Fr. Dever or the parish office. We will then make contact by phone to arrange when we can visit.
