WELCOME

It is with great joy that we welcome newly ordained Fr. Anthony McGrath back to St. Mary’s today (Sunday). Fr. Anthony was recently ordained for the Diocese of Shrewsbury. He was the last baby baptised in the old cinema on Stockport Road on the 30th November, 1975 by Fr. John Williams. Our paths crossed in faraway South Africa in July 2000. Fr. Anthony was then volunteering in an orphanage for abandoned babies suffering from Aids. We brought the charity back to St. Bede’s College and over the years the generosity of St. Bede’s parents has helped save many lives. We wish Fr. Anthony a long and fruitful ministry.

MANY THANKS to all who contributed to Fr. Peter McVerry’s Trust at the funeral of Michael Brennan. A total of £1,275 was presented to the charity in memory of Michael.
